Determining the quantity of ash (cremains) you will receive from the pet crematory is difficult as crematory service processes vary. A general guideline is about one cup (8 ounces) per 20 pounds or 1 cubic inch per pound of normal body weight. We freely offer exchanges if you need a different sized pet urn.
Some may find it acceptable to share the volume of ash with other family members in a keepsake or jewelry urn or, if the ashes are excessive, a portion may be planted with a memorial tree or spread on a favorite rest area in the yard.
